Learning to Manifest Your Desires

Esther and Jerry Hicks
(The Teachings of Abraham)

Paperback / Hay House / September 2004

To quote Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, "The book you’re holding in your hands at this moment contains some of the most powerful teachings available to you on our planet today." Dyer’s claim is not an exaggeration! For, indeed, I found this amazing book to be all that he claims it to be: the teachings of the non-physical collective consciousness the authors, Esther and Jerry Hicks, refer to as "Abraham".

The book is divided into two parts. In Part 1 Abraham covers "Things that we know, that you may have forgotten, which are important for you to remember." Claiming that you chose to enter this physical world of your own free will is not a new idea.* Never the less Abraham reminds us that it is true, and that we did! Being comprised of vibrational energy, we are always directly connected to what Abraham calls "Source Energy". We reflect, in vibrational terms, every aspect of our being, including our thoughts. In the twenty-two chapters comprising this section Abraham details the basics of the "Law Of Attraction" which claims that everyone is getting exactly what they are wishing for — all the time — without exception — without fail. The problem lies not only in knowing what it is you are wishing for, but in the true nature of your wishes. By the time you reach the end of this section the reader should be in a much better position in terms of manifesting their desires.

Part 2, entitled "Processes to help you achieve what you now remember," contains twenty-two processes, or exercises, aimed at improving your "Point of Attraction". Each process is oriented towards a specific life situation, providing a methodology to address it. Some I found very helpful, others no so. However, I am sure each reader will find something useful in this section.

A powerful book, indeed. You need to own it. You will want to read it more than once.

* I think I read it somewhere back in college English lit,( Erewhon, Samuel Butler, Penguin Classics).
That having been said, I cannot help but wonder why I chose to enter life in the body I have. But I digress…
